A funny flashlight story

Though we are familiar with flashlights, they do bring about some interesting and unforgettable stories. We would like to share some extraordinary flashlights stories from all walks of life with you.

Flashlights at the Zoo

My family and I went to the Indianapolis zoo on Saturday. So as we made our loop around the zoo we came to the dolphin pool. The Indy Zoo has a cool setup because they have room that has a glass dome and windows on 3 side that let you see the dolphins under the water. Anyway while in that room I got out my trusty PD and began shining the light into the water through the window to see how far the light would cast a spot on the side of the pool. One of the dolphins noticed the light flashing and began swimming very close to the window where I was standing. In about 30 second I had 30 people standing around me to get a closer look at the dolphin. My wife kept telling me to put the light up before I got in trouble but when she saw how close the dolphin came to the window she thought it was pretty cool too. It was neat to stir up some curiosity in the dolphin so he would come near so I could get a closer look. I tried the same thing with the walrus and polar bear but both of them could not have cared less.

Enjoy our funny story.

Why Flashlight Called Flashlight?

Flashlight also referred to as a torch, is a hand-held electronic lighting tools. In Britain and all English speaking countries outside North America, torch usually means a flashlight, and a torch which uses fire as its light-source is often called a "burning torch" to distinguish. The term flashlight is used mainly in the United States and Canada. In other English-speaking countries, the most common term is torch or electric torch.

A typical flashlight has a battery-powered light bulbs and by focusing mirrors, and a handle used for hand-held type housing.
Although the design is fairly simple, it has been invented in the late 19th century, because it must be combined with the invention of the battery and light bulb. In the early, because of lack of batteries store electricity, so in English it is called “flashlight”, meaning a short light.

LED Flashlight VS Traditional Flashlight

Actually, the difference between LED flashlights and ordinary ones is the difference between LEDs and traditional bulbs. As we know, LEDs stand for light emitting diodes and LED flashlights have become popular in daily use. It is easy to find that they have been around in all kinds of devices such as in traffic light, TV set, etc. Why are they so prevailing over the traditional bulbs?
  1) Less Energy Consumption – LED flashlights use just a fraction of the energy incandescent flashlights consume. Incandescent lights work by heading a thin wire inside the bulb, creating both light and heat. Unfortunately, much of the energy needed to create light is lost in the form of heat. By using LEDs, less of the energy is lost to heat, meaning the same amount of light requires less energy to produce.. To the the same lighting effect, the incandescent flashlight needs consume 60 watts energy compared with a LED flashlight which only consumes 6-8 watts energy.
   2) Brighter & Whiter Light Beam – Unlike incandescent bulbs, which produce more of a yellow, washed out color, LEDs produce a brilliant white light that is far brighter than what can be produced by an incandescent bulb. This is important when using a flashlight, as LEDs allow you to see farther and clearer.
   3) Longer Life Span Bulb – As mentioned earlier, LED bulbs use less electricity than incandescent bulbs do.The average LED life span is 50,000 hours while the life span of Incandescent Light Bulbs is 1,200 hours. In the long run, this means saving you money on both batteries for your flashlight and purchasing replacement bulbs.
The flashlight LED flashlight has become the sales leader on the flashlight market. Few people will go with a traditional flashlight. The development of LED flashlight in the coming days will be more rapid. LED flashlight technology will have greater innovation.

LED lights enjoy a far longer lifespan than other light sources. Doing this along with producing brighter colors and illuminating a wider area, LED lures tend to be a favorite for any fish in which can be fascinated by light. Not merely are the fisherman using lure powered simply by such technology however they have even decked out their vessels lining the hull with the much more efficient LED underwater lights.

LED technology has made underwater lights far more viable and attractive. Used by boater, fisherman, and also the average owner. Easy to install as well as relatively affordable, LEDs usually are quickly replacing traditional light systems
