How to Use Laser Pointers Safely?

Laser pointers can be extraordinarily useful, for everything from illustrating lectures to pointing out constellations. They are, however, still lasers, and any laser should be handled with care. Read on to learn how to use laser pointers safely.
   Things you will need.
1.Switch the pen on. The switch is often a push-switch, sometimes located at the opposite end from the lens. Some switches are momentary, so you can switch the pen on only when you are pointing at something, and automatically switch off when not depressed.
2.Point the laser dot at whatever you wish to indicate. If you are at a meeting, point the laser at an item on a projected list, at a location on a map or at an item on a whiteboard.
3.Move the laser dot in a circle for emphasis. Simply flick your wrist in a circular motion. It will look to the audience like you are drawing a circle around whatever it is you are pointing at.
4.Move the laser dot in a linear motion to indicate a path. For example, trace a river, road or route on a map.
   5. Please keep the laser pointer away from children. Moreover, only allow adults to use laser pointer after they have understood the responsibilities and risks that it carries.
6.Don't allow the laser beam to enter the eye. The laser beam is harmful to eyes; any contact will cause permanent damage. Not the laser pointer to the crowd, especially in the face.
   7. Always be conscious of where you're pointing. Avoid pointing a laser at any reflective surfaces. Unintentionally reflected beams can easily violate Step 6
   8. Never use your laser pointer in the vicinity of airports, highways, construction sites or anywhere individuals need to constantly pay attention to their work for their own safety.A split-second distraction--a sudden laser light in a plane cockpit, for example--can be disastrous.
9.Be especially cautious around high-powered lasers, like green laser pointers used for stargazing. They are far stronger than the red pointers commonly used during lectures. And do not purchase a laser pointer at all if it does not identify its class or power.

Choosing the Right Laser Pointer

Laser pointers are fun, easy to use and functional tools for presentations, meetings and demonstrations. However, their simplicity lends them to be easy to misuse. Follow these helpful tips to maximize your laser pointer's effectiveness.
When we want to choose a good laser pointer, these factors we may have to take into consideration: LD (light bulb) quality, lens quality, laser crystals quality, and the laser power which will affect the quality of laser beam. So please note the following points when choosing laser pointer:
There are hundreds of variations on a simple laser pointer. However, when choosing which to use, a couple of things must be kept in mind. First, choose an appropriate intensity of laser. Even though there are green lasers that can start fires, there is no way burning a hole in a projection screen will be good for a presentation. Stick to low intensity lasers unless you specifically need higher intensities (for stargazing, for instance). As far as functionality is concerned, smaller and lighter laser pointers are easier to use and more compact, which can add to the effectiveness of a presentation. Stick to small lasers, but don't sacrifice battery life for a smaller laser pointer.
Choosing a good Laser Point and using it in professional fields such as military, astronomy, scientific research, medical or laboratory experiment, while people still need pay high caution while using it for work. Anytime using of high power green laser pointer should pay high attention and then you can really have a good result on your work.

Introduction Of Green Laser Pointer

Green laser pointers are considered remarkable to red-colored laser pointers because they tend to be more sensitive to detection in the individual eye. A green laser pointer is about fifty occasions brighter, and in darkness, the beam of lumination could possibly be seen, in contrast to the one red-colored dot emitted by a red-colored laser pointer. green laser pointers are usually utilized in science fields, specially astronomy to point out stars and constellations. They are also utilized for sky-pointing, signaling and projection on lower clouds.
Green Laser Pointers appear many times brighter because green is most visible to the human eye. At the same FDA approved power of < 5mW, a green laser pointer is many times brighter than a red laser pointer and you can even see the entire green beam in the dark! Green Laser Pointers are perfect for presentations in large auditoriums or brightly lit rooms, for star pointing or pointing on job sites such as construction sites, large warehouses or refineries

Battery Tips for LED Flashlight

Battery Tips for LED Flashlight
1.Do not attempt to simultaneously recharge batteries of different capacities, different brands or different ages. Do not use batteries of different brands or different ages together.
2.Do not put single-use batteries in a refrigerator or freezer.
Some people in the battery industry assert that placing charged NiMH batteries in a freezer, if well-packaged to avoid collecting moisture, will enable them to retain a high percentage of stored energy.
3.Frozen batteries should be restored to room temperature before usage. Other experts discourage the use of refrigeration or freezing for any batteries.
4.This tip was previously stated, but it's worth repeating: If left unused for long stretches of time, recharge standard NiMHs every 1 to 2 months, precharged NiMHs every 6 to 9 months.
5.Remove batteries from devices if they will be left unused for months at a time. This prevents a device from exerting a tiny drain on the batteries even though the device is inactive.
6.Remove single-use (non-rechargeable) batteries from a device when they are being powered by household AC current. Doing so spares the batteries from any tiny drain on their power reserves by the device.
7.Do not store batteries, particularly single-use batteries, in locations where heat can become intense, such as car trunks, attics or garages.
8.Avoid tossing batteries into a drawer, briefcase or bag where they may contact metal objects such as coins or paper clips. Doing so may cause a short or it could negatively affect a battery's polarity.
9.Never put batteries into a fire. Doing so could cause them to rupture and spill their contents. Also: Avoid tossing them into a metal container where heat could build up.

A funny flashlight story

Though we are familiar with flashlights, they do bring about some interesting and unforgettable stories. We would like to share some extraordinary flashlights stories from all walks of life with you.

Flashlights at the Zoo

My family and I went to the Indianapolis zoo on Saturday. So as we made our loop around the zoo we came to the dolphin pool. The Indy Zoo has a cool setup because they have room that has a glass dome and windows on 3 side that let you see the dolphins under the water. Anyway while in that room I got out my trusty PD and began shining the light into the water through the window to see how far the light would cast a spot on the side of the pool. One of the dolphins noticed the light flashing and began swimming very close to the window where I was standing. In about 30 second I had 30 people standing around me to get a closer look at the dolphin. My wife kept telling me to put the light up before I got in trouble but when she saw how close the dolphin came to the window she thought it was pretty cool too. It was neat to stir up some curiosity in the dolphin so he would come near so I could get a closer look. I tried the same thing with the walrus and polar bear but both of them could not have cared less.

Enjoy our funny story.

Why Flashlight Called Flashlight?

Flashlight also referred to as a torch, is a hand-held electronic lighting tools. In Britain and all English speaking countries outside North America, torch usually means a flashlight, and a torch which uses fire as its light-source is often called a "burning torch" to distinguish. The term flashlight is used mainly in the United States and Canada. In other English-speaking countries, the most common term is torch or electric torch.

A typical flashlight has a battery-powered light bulbs and by focusing mirrors, and a handle used for hand-held type housing.
Although the design is fairly simple, it has been invented in the late 19th century, because it must be combined with the invention of the battery and light bulb. In the early, because of lack of batteries store electricity, so in English it is called “flashlight”, meaning a short light.

LED Flashlight VS Traditional Flashlight

Actually, the difference between LED flashlights and ordinary ones is the difference between LEDs and traditional bulbs. As we know, LEDs stand for light emitting diodes and LED flashlights have become popular in daily use. It is easy to find that they have been around in all kinds of devices such as in traffic light, TV set, etc. Why are they so prevailing over the traditional bulbs?
  1) Less Energy Consumption – LED flashlights use just a fraction of the energy incandescent flashlights consume. Incandescent lights work by heading a thin wire inside the bulb, creating both light and heat. Unfortunately, much of the energy needed to create light is lost in the form of heat. By using LEDs, less of the energy is lost to heat, meaning the same amount of light requires less energy to produce.. To the the same lighting effect, the incandescent flashlight needs consume 60 watts energy compared with a LED flashlight which only consumes 6-8 watts energy.
   2) Brighter & Whiter Light Beam – Unlike incandescent bulbs, which produce more of a yellow, washed out color, LEDs produce a brilliant white light that is far brighter than what can be produced by an incandescent bulb. This is important when using a flashlight, as LEDs allow you to see farther and clearer.
   3) Longer Life Span Bulb – As mentioned earlier, LED bulbs use less electricity than incandescent bulbs do.The average LED life span is 50,000 hours while the life span of Incandescent Light Bulbs is 1,200 hours. In the long run, this means saving you money on both batteries for your flashlight and purchasing replacement bulbs.
The flashlight LED flashlight has become the sales leader on the flashlight market. Few people will go with a traditional flashlight. The development of LED flashlight in the coming days will be more rapid. LED flashlight technology will have greater innovation.

LED Lights Used Under the Sea

The ocean can be a dark place much more at night as well as boaters discovers that the sea lights can be important. Each of that fisherman as well as typically the recreational boater employ under the sea lights which, until recently, might be inefficient, the particular problem is that will typically the old-style lights are prone to failure as well as could be rather in need of replacement regardless of whether if at all on a boat or within a pool.

LED lights can be a comparatively new and also cheap lighting solution in which is slowly taking typically the host to some lighting systems. With several benefits LED lights can be getting used simply by cities to light roadways, by car manufacturers for headlamps, and also even through fisherman. Fisherman realizes LED lures are usually easier to make use of and also highly effective anytime attracting the preferred prey.

LED lights enjoy a far longer lifespan than other light sources. Doing this along with producing brighter colors and illuminating a wider area, LED lures tend to be a favorite for any fish in which can be fascinated by light. Not merely are the fisherman using lure powered simply by such technology however they have even decked out their vessels lining the hull with the much more efficient LED underwater lights.

LED technology has made underwater lights far more viable and attractive. Used by boater, fisherman, and also the average owner. Easy to install as well as relatively affordable, LEDs usually are quickly replacing traditional light systems
